right is lit if the link speed is 1000 Mbps, and it is unlit if the link speed is 10/100 Mbps.

Relay Jack:
A six-pin modular jack for optional door relay control.

Memory Card Slot:
A single slot to house the Mitel serialized compact flash-type memory card.
Next to the slot is a recessed extractor button for ejecting the card. (Use only Mitel-supplied
memory cards; see page 371 for part numbers.)
The following illustration shows the back of the HX Controller chassis equipped with an HX Processor
Module, a T1 expansion module, and three digital expansion modules.
Processor/Expansion Modules
In addition to the numerous older expansion modules that continue to work with the HX Controller
platform, two additional modules were developed, as described below.
HX Processor Module
As the name implies, the HX Processor Module contains the main controlling microprocessor and
provides the core call and voice processing engine for the system. Key features include:

• Linux

operating system
• Built-in analog, digital, and VoIP (G.711/G.729) capability
• Built-in Unified Voice Messaging (UVM) capability (up to 32 ports in either a standalone or
PS-1/vPS-1 configuration)
• T.38 fax over IP capability
• Power failure bypass function (via an internal cutover relay) to provide emergency calling capa

bility in the event of a power failure
