(14) Scale (FD)
Requirement
Adjust so that the leading edge of the image of the scale on the copy sample meets the
requirements.
This adjustment must be made when the Scanner has been removed the Scanner Drive
Cable or Original Glass has been replaced.
Adjustment Procedure
2. Set Lead Edge Erase to 0.

3. Set Registration (FD) to +8.2.

4. Set Erasure Width to 0.

NOTE
Be sure to record the current setting value.
5. Go back to the Basic screen.
6. Make a copy in the full size (× 1.000) mode.
7. Make a copy at an enlargement ratio (e.g.: × 1.294).
Adjust Mode Setting Range
Scale (FD) -7.0 to +7.0
1. Place a scale on the Original Glass so that it runs
parallel with the Original Length Scale and its lead-
ing edge is aligned with the Original Width Scale.

8. Check to see if the leading edge of the scale is
reproduced on the full-size copy.
9. Check to see if the position of the leading edge of
the scale reproduced on the enlarged copy does
not deviate from that on the full-size copy.
If the conditions of steps 8 and 9 are met, return
Lead Edge Erase, Registration (FD), and Erasure
Width to the values recorded.
If conditions of steps 8 and 9 are not met, perform
the following adjustment steps.
