TRANSMISSION

1st Shaft (Continued)

1. Remove the bearing (22) and external circlip (23).
2. Draw out the all synchronizer units and gears.

(When reassembling)

• Be sure to assemble the synchronizer unit, set the teeth (25) on

the shifter (8) to the key (7) as shown in the figure.

• Apply transmission fluid to synchronizer unit.
• Apply molybdenum disulfide (Three Bond 1901 or equivalent) to

the inner races (4).

• The thrust collar between 23T gear and 31T (30T) gear have two

collars.

• Set the thrust needle bearing (17) and bearing washer (18).

Toward the needle side to the 16T gear (19).

• Set the split type needle bearing (20) on the 1st shaft, then install

the 16T gear (19).

• Install the thrust needle bearing (21) toward the needle side to

16T gear (19).

• Replace the external circlip (23) with new one.
