M8540, M9540, WSM

TRANSMISSION

Main Shift Arm

1. Remove the stopper plate (14) and seal cap (13).
2. Remove the select lever (4) then remove the select arm (3).
3. Remove the seal cap (5).
4. Remove the internal circlip (8).
5. Remove the screw (6) and remove the washer (9), spring (10)

and washer (11).

6. Remove the main shift arm (2).
7. Remove the stopper plate (12) and main shift lever (1).

(When reassembling)

• Replace the seal caps with new one.
• Assemble the main shift arm (2) and main shift lever (1) with

spline, align the both levers are the same direction as shown in
the photo.

• Apply transmission fluid to the spline.
• Assemble the select arm (3) and select lever (4) with spline,

difference them at 1.57 rad (90 °) as shown in the photo.
