Triggering a Waveform

Segment Advance
mode plays a segment in a sequence only if triggered. The
trigger source
controls segment–to–segment playing (see
Example: Segment Advance Triggering
222). A trigger received during the last segment loops play to the
first
segment in the sequence.

Gated
mode triggers the waveform at the first active triggering state, then repeatedly starts and
stops playing the waveform in response to an externally applied gating signal. See

External Trigger Polarity
— In Continuous, Single, and Segment Advance modes, use the
Ext Polarity
softkey to set the
external trigger polarity.
— In Gated mode, the
Active Low
and
Active High
softkeys (
) determine the external
trigger polarity.
