Problems with LEDs on Expansion Unit Modules

Before trying to diagnose a problem with the Expansion Unit modules, make sure that all modules are
properly inserted in their slots and are plugged into the connectors in the ATM backplane.

No LED is ON.

Steps to Take:

1. This is the default behavior when you install an Expansion Unit module that has never been configured. All ports

are disabled so the LEDs are OFF.

2. Module is not connected to the backplane correctly. Unplug the module, then plug it back in carefully. When you

feel that the module is almost inserted, use the levers to push it in completely.

3. Press the RESET button on the Base Unit to check that all LEDs on all Expansion Unit modules are functioning

properly.

4. Ports not enabled. From the console, check that the module is working correctly by issuing the SHOW MODULE

and SHOW PORT commands.
