Default Gateway

The default gateway is the IP address of the gateway that will receive and forward packets whose
addresses are unknown to the ATM subnetwork.

For example, the following command defines the gateway with the address

195.44.45.26

as the default

gateway:

ARP Server

The ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) server is used in a Classical IP Over ATM network to map IP
addresses to ATM addresses.
