Chapter 14. Configuring LAN Emulation Parameters
Carry out the procedures in this chapter only if you want use ‘LAN Emulation Over ATM’
functions on the ATM Workgroup Switch.
Procedure
To configure the default local parameters for the ATM Workgroup Switch, perform the following steps:

If you want to implement LAN emulation, configure the LAN Emulation Server and Broadcast
Unknown Server (LES/BUS) parameters, as described in “Setting Up LAN Emulation
Servers” on page 108, using the command:
set lan_emul server n start

If you want to start a LAN Emulation Client, for example for TFTP functions, configure the
LEC parameters, as described in “Setting Up a LAN Emulation Client” on page 111, using
the command:
set device lan_emulation_client

If you want external LAN Emulation Configuration Server (LECS) support, configure the
LECS ATM address or fixed PVC, depending on the configuration requirements of the LECS
and external LECs (workstations, bridges, and so on).
To configure the LECS ATM address, as described in “Setting the LECS ATM Address” on
page 113, use the commands:
set lan_emul configuration_server
set pvc
