Connecting Devices to the Console Connector
The Console Connector may be used to attach the configuration console, a modem or a server to the
workgroup switch. This section describes:
Ÿ The RS-232 Connector
Ÿ The RS-232 Null-Modem Interposer
Ÿ The RS-232 Wrap Plug
For specific information on connecting the configuration console to the Console connector, see “Attaching
the Configuration Console to the Workgroup Switch” on page 196.
For specific information on connecting a modem to the Console connector, see “Attaching a Modem to
the Workgroup Switch” on page 196.
For information on connecting a server to the Console Connector, refer to the documentation supplied
with the server.
RS-232 Connector
The RS-232 connector is the 25-pin female connector on the Base Unit that attaches to an EIA 232
cable. Table 10 lists the signal name associated with each pin on this connector, and Figure 43 shows
how the pins are numbered.
