Console Port Wrap Test
An RS-232 Wrap Plug (P/N 58G9868) is required to test the Console Port interface. To perform the wrap
test:
1. Power-OFF the workgroup switch
2. Unplug the RS-232 cable from the Console Port on the Base Unit
3. Plug the RS-232 Wrap Plug into the Console Port.
4. Power on the Base Unit
Results: During the POST the OK and Fault LEDs blink alternately. After 5 seconds, if:

The OK LED (green) lights ON and the Fault LED (yellow) is OFF, the wrap test is OK.
Ÿ The OK LED (green) continues blinking and the Fault LED (yellow) lights ON, the wrap test is KO.
Call your IBM service representative.
Ÿ
The Fault LED (yellow) lights ON, call your IBM service representative. Possible failing parts: Base
Unit Mother Board or Box.
