PVCs to Early IBM 8260 ATM Control Point and Switches: Internal management of PVCs in the ATM
Workgroup Switch is not compatible with versions of the IBM 8260 ATM Control Point and switch prior to
version 2.1.0.

To set up a PVC to an 8260 hub with a CPSW earlier than version 2.1.0, you must:

Define one PVC among the ‘pre-v.2.1.0’ switches only

Define one PVC among the later version switches

Join the two PVCs by fibre or cable, as shown in Figure 22

Configure the two “boundary” ports with the same VPI:VCI.
