From Sphinx to Kouros: To configure the route from Workstation Sphinx to Workstation Kouros, you
must know the local ACN for cluster C (02). You would then start from ATM Workgroup Switch F, the
entry point to cluster A in subnetwork Y:

1. From ATM Workgroup Switch F (entry point in cluster A), enter the SET STATIC_ROUTE command

with the local ACN for Cluster B (02).

2. From Hub G (boundary hub), enter the SET LOGICAL_LINK command with the local ACN for Cluster

B (02).

3. From Hub H (the entry point in cluster B), enter the SET STATIC_ROUTE command with a dummy

ACN (for example, 33) that will represent Cluster C (local ACN=02) in Subnetwork X.

4. From Hub H (which is also a boundary hub), enter the SET LOGICAL_LINK command using the

same dummy ACN (33).

The ATM address of Workstation Kouros is known in cluster C by the updates received at each ATM
switch by the Topology Routing Service (TRS).

From Kouros to Sphinx: To configure the route for communication in the opposite direction, you must
know the local ACN for cluster A (01). You would start from Hub J, the entry point to cluster C in
subnetwork X:

1. From Hub J, enter the SET STATIC_ROUTE command with a dummy ACN (for example, 44) that

will represent Cluster A (local ACN=01 in Subnetwork Y).

2. From Hub I (boundary hub), enter the SET LOGICAL_LINK command using the same dummy ACN

(44) for Cluster A.

3. From Hub H (boundary hub), enter the SET LOGICAL_LINK command with the ACN for cluster A

(01).

The ATM address of Workstation Sphinx is known in cluster A by the TRS updates.
