Expansion Unit Wrap Test

An Expansion Connector Wrap Plug (P/N 58G9869) is required to test the Expansion Connector
interface. To perform the wrap test:

1. Power-OFF the Base Unit and Expansion Unit

2. Unplug the cable from the Expansion Connector on the Base Unit

3. Plug the Expansion Wrap Plug into the Expansion Connector.

4. Power on the Base Unit

Results:

The Wrap Test is OK if the Base Unit enters ‘maintenance mode’ and displays the ‘

’ prompt. Call

your IBM service representative. Possible failing parts: Expansion Unit Switch Board, Expansion
Cable.

The Wrap Test is KO if the Base Unit enters ‘maintenance mode’ and displays the ‘

’ prompt with

an error code. Call your IBM service representative. Possible failing parts: Base Unit Mother
Board or Box, Wrap Plug.
