Configuring Permanent Virtual Circuits (PVCs)

Permanent Virtual Circuits (PVCs) can be defined to connect two ATM ports within the same cluster.
Two types of PVC are supported:

PVCs for virtual channel connections (VCCs)

PVCs for virtual path connections (VPCs), also known as permanent virtual path (PVP).

For each PVC you must define:

The hub number (HN) of the remote switch

The ports that form the local and remote end points

A unique PVC identifier

The type of PVC (path or channel)

The bandwidth allocation algorithm (best effort or reserved)

The maximum number of PVCs that can exist in an workgroup switch is 100.

PVC Workarounds

Workarounds are necessary to create PVCs in certain circumstances:

PVCs across NNI trunks.

PVCs to 8260 hubs with CPSW modules earlier than version 2.1.0
