126 Command Reference

admin

Description

Opens and closes an Admin session. The Admin session provides access to commands that change

the fabric and switch configurations. Only one Admin session can be open on the switch at any time.

An inactive Admin session will time out after a specified period of time, which is changed using the

set setup system

command.

commands will also end an Admin session.

cancel

Terminates an Admin session opened by another user. Use this operand with care because it

terminates the Admin session without warning the other user and without saving pending

changes.

Notes

Closing a Telnet window during an Admin session does not release the session. In this case, you

must either wait for the Admin session to time out, or use the

admin cancel

command.

Examples

The following example shows how to open and close an Admin session:
