104 Event Log Configuration
To control local logging (
LocalLogEnabled
parameter) and remote logging (
RemoteLogEnabled
and
RemoteLogHostAddress
parameters), enter the
set setup system
command in an Admin session,
as shown in the following example:
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> set setup system
A list of attributes with formatting and current values will follow.
Enter a new value or simply press the ENTER key to accept the current value.
If you wish to terminate this process before reaching the end of the list
press 'q' or 'Q' and the ENTER key to do so.

Creating and downloading a log file
To collect the event log messages in a file (
logfile
) on the switch,
enter the
set log archive
command.
logfile
can have a maximum of 1,200 event messages. Use FTP to download the file from
the switch to your workstation as follows:
1.
Log into the switch through Telnet and create an archive of the event log. To create a file on the switch
named
logfile
, enter the
set log archive
command.
SN6000 FC Switch #> admin start
SN6000 FC Switch (admin) #> set log archive
2.
Open an FTP session on the switch and log in with the account name
images
and password
images
.
Transfer the file
logfile
in binary mode with the
get
command.
>ftp
ip_address
user:images
password: images
ftp>bin
ftp>get logfile

ftp>quit
