5.12.7 VALVE CAMSHAFT DEFLECTION CHECK 5.12.8 VALVE CAM HEIGHT MEASUREMENT
Place the camshaft on V blocks with its journals
supported and set a dial indicator with its tip on the
intermediate journal.
Measure the eccentricity (half of the measured value)
while turning the camshaft on the V blocks.
If the eccentricity exceeds the allowable limit, re-
place the camshaft.

Measure the height of the camshaft lobe at largest
O.D. with an outside micrometer.
If the measured value is below the allowable limit,
replace the camshaft.
