5.12.5 IDLE GEAR OIL CLEARANCE
MEASUREMENT
Measure the idle gear shaft O.D. with an outside
micrometer.
Measure the idle gear bushings I.D. with an inside
micrometer.
If the clearance exceeds the allowable limit, replace
the bushing. 1.
