snooping multicast VLANs must use a unique VLAN ID and name, i.e. they cannot use the VLAN
ID or name of any existing 802.1Q VLAN. Also keep in mind the following conditions: multicast
VLANs cannot be configured or displayed using 802.1Q VLAN commands; an IP interface cannot
be bound to a multicast VLAN; and the multicast VLAN snooping function co-exists with the
802.1Q VLAN snooping function.
Format
create mld_snooping multicast_vlan <vlan_name 32> <vlanid 2-4094> {remap_priority
[<value 0-7> | none] {replace_priority}}
Parameters
<vlan_name 32>
- Enter the name of the multicast VLAN to be created. Each multicast VLAN is
given a name that can be up to 32 characters.
<vlanid 2-4094>
- Enter the VLAN ID of the multicast VLAN to be created. The range is from 2 to
4094.
remap_priority
- (Optional) Specify the remap priority here.
<value 0-7>
- Enter the remap priority (0 to 7) to be associated with the data traffic to be
forwarded on the multicast VLAN.
none
- If none is specified, the packet’s original priority will be used. The default setting is
none.
replace_priority
- (Optional) Specify that the packet’s priority will be changed by the switch,
based on the remap priority. This flag will only take effect when the remap priority is set.
Restrictions
Only Administrators, Operators and Power-Users can issue this command.
Example
To create an MLD snooping multicast VLAN with the VLAN name mv1 and the VID 2:
DGS-3000-26TC:admin#create mld_snooping multicast_vlan mv1 2
Command: create mld_snooping multicast_vlan mv1 2
Success.
