configure interface cable-mac <num> no shutdown
How to Take a CAM Out of Service and Delete Its Slot
This procedure is used to remove a CAM and the slot in which it resides out of service.
1.
If the CAM to be taken out of service is part of a spare group, first remove the card from the spare group.
configure slot <slot> spare-group <int> no
2.
Take the CAM out of service:
configure slot <slot> shutdown
Where: slot = the number of the slot, 0-15.
3.
Verify module status:
show linecard status
The system response should confirm that the module is out of service.
4.
Deprovision the slot:
configure no slot <slot>
Where: slot = the number of the slot, 0-15.

Save your changes:
write memory
