Should the number of events exceed this threshold, all events are inhibited in either of the following ways:
Until the throttling type is reset.
Until the interval begins again.
Throttling Set to Stop (Closed-loop Feedback)
For closed-loop feedback throttling, the C4/c CMTS works together with a network management subsystem to jointly
police the amount of traffic transmitted on the network.
The C4/c CMTS automatically inhibits event transmissions when the number of events becomes excessive. Unlike Limit
Throttling, transmission remains inhibited until a management subsystem directs the C4/c CMTS to resume. (1)

Cable Modems and Cable Modem Termination Systems” for more information.
Event Throttling Commands
The table below and the paragraphs that follow provide the CLI commands that are used to configure and manage event
throttling for the C4/c CMTS.
Table 130.
Event Throttling Commands
Purpose
Command
Sets the throttle interval to a given interval
(length in seconds).
Use the [no] option to transmit the trap and
Syslog messages without regard to threshold
settings.
