Parameter
Description
Total Packets Trans-
Displays the total number of octets of data (including those in bad packets) trans-
mitted (Octets)
mitted on the network (excluding framing bits but including FCS octets). This object
can be used as a reasonable estimate of ethernet utilization. If greater precision is
desired, the etherStatsPkts and etherStatsOctets objects should be sampled before
and after a common interval.
Packets Transmitted
Displays the total number of transmitted Packets that are 64 octets in length.
64 Octets
Packets Transmitted
Displays the total number of transmitted Packets that are 65 to 127 octets in length
65-127 Octets
(excluding framing bits, including FCS octets).
Packets Transmitted
Displays the total number of transmitted Packets that are 128 to 255 octets in
128-255 Octets
length (excluding framing bits, including FCS octets).
Packets Transmitted
Displays the total number of transmitted Packets that are 256 To 511 octets in
256-511 Octets
length (excluding framing bits, including FCS octets).
Packets Transmitted
Displays the total number of transmitted Packets that are 512 to 1023 octets in
512-1023 Octets
length (excluding framing bits, including FCS octets).
Packets Transmitted
Displays the total number of transmitted Packets that are 1024 to 1518 octets in
1024-1518 Octets
length (excluding framing bits, including FCS octets).
Packets Transmitted
Displays the total number of packets transmitted that were longer than 1518 octets
> 1518 Octets
(excluding framing bits, but including FCS octets) and were otherwise well formed.
This counter has a max increment rate of 815 counts per sec at 10 Mb/s.
Maximum Frame
Displays the maximum ethernet frame size the interface supports or is configured,
Size
including ethernet header, CRC, and payload. 1518 to 9216. The default maximum
frame size is 1518.
Total Packets Trans-
Displays the number of frames that have been transmitted by this port to its seg-
mitted Successfully
ment.
Unicast Packets
Displays the total number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be trans-
Transmitted
mitted to a sub network-unicast address, including those that were discarded or not
sent.
Multicast Packets
Displays the total number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be trans-
Transmitted
mitted to a Multicast address, including those that were discarded or not sent.
Broadcast Packets
Displays the total number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be trans-
Transmitted
mitted to the Broadcast address, including those that were discarded or not sent.
Transmit Packets
Displays the number of outbound packets which were chosen to be discarded even
Discarded
though no errors had been detected to prevent their being transmitted. One possi-
ble reason for discarding such a packet could be to free up buffer space.
Total Transmit Errors
Displays the sum of Single, Multiple, and Excessive Collisions.
Total Transmit Pack-
Displays the sum of single collision frames discarded, multiple collision frames dis-
ets Discarded
carded, and excessive frames discarded.
Single Collision
Displays the count of the number of successfully transmitted frames on a particular
Frames
interface for which transmission is inhibited by exactly one collision.
