Maximum Users
Enter the maximum number of clients that can get authenticated on the port in the
Mac-based dot1x authentication mode. This field is configurable. The maximum
users value is in the range of 1 to 16. The default value is 16. Changing the value
will not change the configuration until the Submit button is pressed.
Submit
Click
Submit
to update the switch with the values on the screen. If you want the
switch to retain the new values across a power cycle you must perform a save.
Refresh
Click
Refresh
to update the data on the screen with the present state of the data in
the switch.
Initialize
Click
Initialize
to begin the initialization sequence on the selected port. This button
is only selectable if the control mode is 'auto' or 'MAC-based'. If the button is not
selectable, it will be grayed out. Once this button is pressed, the action is immedi-
ate. It is not required to press the Submit button for the action to occur. Dot1x must
be enabled for this command to succeed.
Re-Authenticate

Re-Authenticate
to begin the re-authentication sequence on the selected
port. This button is only selectable if the control mode is 'auto' or 'MAC-based'. If
the button is not selectable, it will be grayed out. Once this button is pressed, the
action is immediate. It is not required to press the Submit button for the action to
occur. Dot1x must be enabled for this command to succeed.

The Port Access Control PAE Capability Configuration page allows users to assign PAE
capabilities for each interface. To access this page, click

Interface
Click the drop-down menu to select the port to be configured. When the selection is
changed, a screen refresh will occur causing all fields to be updated for the newly
selected port. All physical interfaces are valid.
PAE Capabilities
Click the drop-down menu to select an option for the Port Access Entity (PAE) con-
figuration. The options are:
authenticator: Port Access Entity (PAE) is set to Authenticator.
supplicant: Port Access Entity (PAE) is set to Supplicant.
