Interface Configuration
The Dynamic ARP Inspection Interface Configuration page allows users to enable or disable
trust rate for each interface, and assign rate limits and burst intervals. To access this page,

Parameter
Description
Interface
Click the drop-down menu to select the physical interface for which data is to be
displayed or configured.
Trust State
Click the drop-down menu to enable or disable the trust state--indicates whether
the interface is trusted for Dynamic ARP Inspection purpose. If this object is set to
'Enable', the interface is trusted. ARP packets coming to this interface will be for-
warded without checking. If this object is set to 'Disable', the interface is not
trusted. ARP packets coming to this interface will be subjected to ARP inspection.
The factory default is Disable.
Rate Limit
Enter a variable for the rate limit value for Dynamic ARP Inspection purpose. If the
incoming rate of ARP packets exceeds the value of this object for consecutively
burst interval seconds, ARP packets will be dropped. If this value is -1 there is no
limit. The Range is 0 to 300 pps. The factory default is 15pps (packets per second).
No Limit
Enter a value to specify the value of Rate Limit will be configured to -1. If the rate
limit is -1 burst interval has no meaning, hence it is disabled.
Burst Interval
Enter a value to specify the burst interval value for rate limiting purpose on this
interface. The Range is 1 to 15 seconds. If the rate limit is -1 burst interval has no
meaning. The factory default is 1 second.
Submit
Click
Submit
to update the switch with the values on the screen. If you want the
switch to retain the new values across a power cycle you must perform a save.
Refresh
Click
Refresh
to update the data on the screen with the present state of the data in
the switch.
