Before using your printer, set up the printer for your network environment
and configure the Ethernet interface. See chapter 5 for details.

Connecting the Power Cord

1.

Make sure the printer’s power switch is off (the

O

is pressed in).

2.

Connect the power cable’s female connector to the back of the
printer and the male connector to a power outlet (fig. 2.33).

Warning:

Plug the printer into a dedicated, properly grounded AC
outlet. Do not use an extension cord. Use a surge
protected outlet to help prevent fluctuations in the power
source from damaging your printer.
