     146iQ Instruction Manual 

Thermo Scientific 

 

The Calibrate Span Coefficient screen is used to enter the span 
concentration and calibrate the O

3

 coefficient. The O

3

 span coefficient is 

calculated, stored, and used to correct the current reading. 

It is important to note the averaging time when calibrating. The longer the 
averaging time the more precise the calibration results. To achieve 
maximum precision, allow the instrument to stabilize each time input gas is 
changed and set the averaging time to 300-second averaging. 

Home Screen>Calibration>Photometer Calibration>Calibrate Span 
Coefficient

 

 

The Calibrate Span Coefficient screen contains the following information: 

●

 

Edit Span Concentration: 

User enters the span concentration. 

●

 

Current Concentration: 

Read only. Displays current concentration. 

●

 

Current Span Coefficient: 

Read only. Displays the current span 

coefficient. 

●

 

Calculated Span Coefficient: 

Read only. After the “Edit Span 

Concentration” value is entered, the new calculated span coefficient is 
displayed. 

●

 

Calibrate: 

When pressed, updates the coefficient and the current O

3

 

concentration should match the span concentration.
