     146iQ Instruction Manual 

Thermo Scientific 

 

Use the following procedure to rebuild the pump. 

Equipment required: 

Pump rebuild kit (qty. 1) 

Phillips drive, #1 or Torque drive, T10 (depending on pump version) 

Pencil or marker 

 

Figure 5–1.

 Single Stage Pump 

1.

 

Turn instrument OFF, unplug the power cord, and remove the cover. 

2.

 

Mark the position of head parts relative to each other by drawing a line 
with a pencil. This helps avoid incorrect assembly later. 

3.

 

Undo the four screws in the head. 

4.

 

Lift the head plate and the intermediate plate off the housing. 

5.

 

Hold the pump with one hand, so that the diaphragm is pointing 
downwards. Lift the diaphragm by the opposing side edges, grasp it and 
unscrew it in the counter-clockwise direction.
