Activate the external ozone source to supply a concentration that is
~80% of the user-set range of the photometer, and ensure that the
photometer readings have stabilized prior to going to
Calibration>Photometer Calibration>
Calibrate Span Coefficient
to
execute a span calibration of the internal photometer. Enter the
concentration read by the external reference photometer as the internal
photometer span concentration prior to pressing ‘Calibrate’.
Alternately, a manual span calibration can also be accomplished via
Calibration>Photometer Calibration>Advanced Photometer
Calibration>Manual Calibration>
Adjust Span Coefficient
(Details in
the ‘
Operation
’ Chapter).
Verification of the 146iQ internal photometer performance (assuming the
Ozone Generator option is available and enabled) can be performed by
means of an ozone generator control check, with an external reference
photometer, as follows:

Connect the external reference photometer to the bulkhead labeled ‘To
Analyzer’ on the rear panel.

Set the Internal Photometer to ‘Control’ mode as shown below in
Settings>

Set up the ozonator to provide ozone concentrations at ~80%, 50%
and 20% of the user-set range in the Settings>Ozonator
Setup>

’ Chapter). Ensure
that the total flow set at the various span levels provides adequate flow
to the internal photometer and the external reference photometer.
4.
Activate the various span levels in Settings>
Operation
and record the
responses of the internal and external photometers. The discrepancy
between the readings should be within 1%.
