Maintenance and cleaning
Before each measurement, it is generally necessary to ensure that the glass pane is
not dirty. This can be cleaned with water and dishwashing detergent or with
isopropanol.
The REA VeriCube should be adjusted and calibrated in regular intervals of about 4-
12 weeks. Details are described in chapter 9.
If the calibration cannot be completed successfully, the glass pane, but also the
mirror inside the housing and the lens of the camera module must be cleaned first.
After that, it has to be adjusted and then calibrated again.
To clean the mirror, please remove the glass pane and then clean the mirror with an
antistatic brush or cleaning devices for camera lenses. Make sure that no streaks
remain on the mirror.
To clean the lens of the camera module, switch off the REA VeriCube, then loosen the
knurled screw on the camera module and removed it. Please handle this carefully so
that the grub screw, which fixes the focusing, is not loosened. If the focusing is
shifted, the unit must be sent to REA Elektronik GmbH for maintenance.
Now the camera lens can be cleaned with an antistatic brush or with cleaning utensils
for camera lenses only. Make sure that no streaks remain on the lens.
In addition, the white value card and also the calibration card can be cleaned with a
slightly damp soft cloth if they become soiled. Please wash only slightly moist, not
wet.
If the calibration is not successful despite of cleaning all the described parts above,
the REA VeriCube must be returned for repair.
