If no HSA system is installed, skip to Step

13.
1.

Turn OFF the ignition.

2.

Reconnect the ECM E-12 and J-14 harness
connectors if disconnected.

3.

Disconnect the HSA control unit B-14 harness
connector.

4.

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

5.

Attempt to communicate with the ECM and
SRS control unit.

Does the scan tool communicate with the
ECM, ICU and SRS control unit?

Go to Step 18

Turn OFF the ignition.

2.

Reconnect the HSA control unit B-14 harness
connector if disconnected.

3.

Reconnect the ECM E-12 and J-14 harness
connectors if disconnected.

4.

Reconnect the TCM B-109, B-110, B-111 and
B-112 harness connectors if disconnected.

5.

Disconnect the SRS control unit B-129
harness connector.

6.

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

7.

Attempt to communicate with the ECM, TCM
and HSA control unit.

Does the scan tool communicate with the
ECM, TCM, ICU and HSA control unit?

Turn OFF the ignition.

Reconnect the HSA control unit B-14 harness
connector if disconnected.

Reconnect the ECM E-12 and J-14 harness
connectors if disconnected.

Reconnect the TCM B-109, B-110, B-111 and
B-112 harness connectors if disconnected.

5.

Reconnect the SRS control unit B-129
harness connector if disconnected.

6.

Disconnect the immobilizer control unit (ICU)
harness connector.

7.

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

8.

Attempt to communicate with the ECM, TCM,
HSA control unit and SRS control unit.

Does the scan tool communicate with the
ECM, TCM, HSA control unit and SRS control
unit?

Repair the open circuit, short to ground or short to
voltage on the Keyword serial data circuit between
the DLC and ECM, TCM, ICU, HSA control unit or
