1. Touch the static-protective package that contains the power-supply paddle card
to any unpainted metal surface on the outside of the system-board tray; then,
remove the power-supply paddle card from the package.
2. Place the power-supply paddle card on the mounting studs in the system-board
tray and install the four screws.
3. Reconnect the power-supply paddle card cables.
4. Install the 3.5-inch simple-swap drives, if you removed any. Complete the
following steps:
a. Install the hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly (see “Removing and
installing a one-bay or four-bay hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly”
on page 168).
b. Reconnect the hard disk drive bracket and cable assembly cables.
c. Install the 3.5-inch hard disk drive (see “Installing a 3.5-inch simple-swap
hard disk drive” on page 142).
5. Install the DIMMs, if you removed any (see “Installing a memory module” on
page 164).
6. Install the expansion enclosure, if you removed one (see “Installing an
expansion enclosure on a system-board tray” on page 132); otherwise, install
the system-board tray cover (see “Installing the system-board tray cover” on
page 125).
7. Install the system-board tray in the chassis (see “Installing the system-board
tray in a 2U chassis” on page 127 or “Installing the system-board tray in a 3U
chassis” on page 129).
Removing a power-supply paddle card from a 3U chassis
To remove a power-supply paddle card from a 3U chassis, complete the following
steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 123.
2. If the 3U chassis is installed in an iDataPlex rack, remove it (see “Removing a
3U chassis from a Type 7825 iDataPlex rack” on page 190).
3. Remove the top cover (see “Removing the 3U chassis top cover” on page 136).
4. Disconnect the cables from the power-supply paddle card, remove the four
screws, slide the card away from the power supply, and remove the
power-supply paddle card from the system-board tray.
