1. Follow any special handling and installation instructions that come with the
battery.
2. Tilt the battery so that you can insert it into the socket on the side opposite the
battery clip.
3. Press the battery down into the socket until it clicks into place. Make sure that
the battery clip holds the battery securely.
4. If you removed the PCIe riser-card assembly, install it (see “Installing a PCIe
riser-card assembly in the system-board tray” on page 172).
5. Install the expansion enclosure, if you removed one (see “Installing an
expansion enclosure on a system-board tray” on page 132); otherwise, install
the system-board tray cover (see “Installing the system-board tray cover” on
page 125).
6. Install the system-board tray in the chassis (see “Installing the system-board
tray in a 2U chassis” on page 127 or “Installing the system-board tray in a 3U
chassis” on page 129).
7. Turn on the system-board tray and run the Setup utility. Set configuration
parameters as needed (see “Using the Setup utility” on page 214 for
information).
Removing and installing a hard disk drive
The following section describes how to remove and replace 2.5-inch hot-swap hard
disk drives and 3.5-inch simple-swap hard disk drives.
Removing a 2.5-inch hot-swap hard disk drive
To remove a 2.5-inch hot-swap hard disk drive, complete the following steps.
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 123.
2. Rotate the drive tray handle of the drive that is to be removed to the open
position.
3. Grasp the drive handle and pull the drive out of the bay.
