Installing the mini-SAS RAID controller
To install the mini-SAS RAID controller, complete the following steps.
1. Touch the static-protective package that contains the mini-SAS RAID controller
to any unpainted metal surface on the outside of the system-board tray; then,
remove the adapter from the package.
2. Align the mini-SAS RAID controller with the mini-PCI connector on the system
board; then, press the adapter into the connector.
3. Press the mini-SAS RAID controller downward until the release clips click into
place and the plastic standoffs are seated in the system board.
4. If you disconnected a cable when you removed the mini-SAS RAID controller,
reconnect the cable.
5. Install the enclosure, if you removed one (see “Installing an expansion
enclosure on a system-board tray” on page 132); otherwise, install the
system-board tray cover (see “Installing the system-board tray cover” on page
125).
6. Install the system-board tray in the chassis (see “Installing the system-board
tray in a 2U chassis” on page 127 or “Installing the system-board tray in a 3U
chassis” on page 129).
Note: To complete the installation of the mini-SAS RAID controller, see the
documentation that comes with the controller for device-driver and
configuration information.

To remove the battery holder, ServeRAID Li-Ion battery, and charge circuit from a
3U chassis, complete the following steps.
