Signaling Provisioning

Packet Voice Processor Commands Manual

an IP address (112.40.12.40) located on the Session Border Controller. Note that

after entering this source IP address in this parameter, this then becomes SIDE 1 to

the Packet Voice Processor. The device or devices where packets are sent from

back to SIDE 1 (in response to the INVITE and other SIP messages from SIDE 1)

becomes SIDE 2. In

Figure 5-3

below, this device is the Media Gateway. After a call

is setup, media (bearer traffic) from Side 1 is transcoded from Codec 1 to Codec 2.

Media (bearer traffic) from Side 2 is subsequently transcoded from Codec 2 to Codec

Note

If the SIDE 1 Source IP Address parameter is set to 0.0.0.0, then Side 2 becomes
the caller and Side 1 becomes the callee. Side 2 will always take the Side 2 policies.
