Packet Voice Processor Commands Manual

CODEC and P-time combination, especially if all the calls land on the same DSP
core. Some MIPS optimization is required to reliably support this CODEC and P-time
combination.

For the codecs listed in

Table 1-2 on page 12

, the PVP also supports the following

features:

DTMF Tone Transport

– Per ITU-T standard, when transmitting DTMF tones in-band, 10 ms

interruption in transmission of each digit must be supported. If the

interruption in transmission is longer than 10 ms (which is the case of

bursty networks), then the DTMF transmission should

not

be done in-

band, and should be done out-of-band (RFC 2833) instead.
