PVP Maintenance Procedures

Packet Voice Processor Commands Manual

Warning

The

CUTOVER

command and cutover process interrupts voice quality enhancement

provided by the VQA™ and IPR™ technologies. This command should only be
issued during a maintenance window.

8.2.1 Loading Software

Follow the steps listed in

Table 8-2

to load software from a TFTP (Trivial File Transfer

Protocol) server to the Switch Control card and other cards.

8.2.2 Reverting to Previous Software

The

REVERT

command reverses a previously performed

CUTOVER

command, and

returns the Switch Control card and other cards to the previous software version.

Warning

The

REVERT

command and reversion process interrupts voice quality enhancement

provided by the VQA and IPR technologies. This command should only be issued
during a maintenance window.

LOAD

Enter the

LOAD

command with the transfer protocol, software file name, and the

location of the server. The

LOAD

command allows the user to load a dual-image

executable file and copy it to all cards.

The software is moved from the server and stored on the active Switch Control
card and other cards. The prompt indicates the completion of the loading
process.

CUTOVER

Enter the

CUTOVER

command. This command switches the Switch Control card

and other cards to the new version of the software and deactivates the original
software version.
