Packet Voice Processor Commands Manual
6.4.2 LAG - Redirection
There are two types of events that can cause the Packet Voice Processor system to
redirect media traffic from the currently used port(s) to other port(s):
LAG port failure
IP connectivity failure
6.4.2.1 LAG Port Failure
In the event of a LAG port failure, the Packet Voice Processor system is designed to
automatically redirect the media (bearer) traffic to the following LAG ports in the
following order:
1. Any other active LAG port that was configured with the same redundancy
role as the currently failed LAG port.
2. The LAG interface fail-over to any other standby port(s) that was configured
with the alternative role (e.g. Master to Backup or Backup to Master).
6.4.2.2 IP Connectivity Failure
In the event of an IP connectivity failure to the next-hop media device on the currently
active LAG port(s), the Packet Voice Processor system is designed to redirect the
media traffic to the standby port(s) configured with the alternative role (e.g. Master to
Backup or Backup to Master).
