The WorldCast Equinox has three loopback test options:
Loop Mode
Description of meaning
No Loopback
This is the normal mode of operation and disables all loop-
back modes on WorldCast Equinox
Local Loopback
When active, this mode loops the audio present at the input
XLR connectors to the output XLR connectors. The connec-
tion is made after the encoder/decoder so local loopback
tests the audio encoder and decoder as well as the input and
output stages. No data will be passed to or received from the
network
Remote Loopback
When active, the audio received from the network is looped
back to the network, passing through the WorldCast Equi-
nox
‟s decoder and encoder on the way. While Remote Loop-
back is enabled, the audio received from the network is still
sent to the audio out XLR connectors (digital and analog) so
the audio can be still be monitored by the WorldCast Equi-
nox.
Select the type of loopback test you want to perform and press
Ent
. Loopback will remain active until switched
off by selecting
No Loopback
.
5.8.3. Headphone Volume
The volume of the headphone output can be adjusted using this option. Use the
and to increment or dec-
rement the volume level
– press
Ent
when you have selected the level you require.
5.8.4. Audio I/O
As the WorldCast Equinox has both analogue and digital audio I/O interfaces you must
select which type you want to use. The XLR-3 connector for left analog audio input is al-
so used as the digital audio input.
Note
: that the WorldCast Equinox will still provide analog audio output when switched to digital au-
dio. This has the added benefit that you can use analog monitoring of the digital outputs if you wish.
5.8.5. Dig O/P
Using this option the digital audio output can be set to use an external clock (e.g. studio reference). If you se-
lect Normal then you will be asked to select the sampling frequency to use
– 32kHz, 44.1kHz or 48kHz – se-
lecting
Reference
will switch the WorldCast Equinox to external clocking.
5.8.6. I/O Impedance
Using this option you can choose the input impedance your require
– 600 /600 or 10k /50 for the input
and output impedances.
