Table: 4-1 Aux data card (Build 1) RS-232 pin assignment
The RS232 auxiliary data channel of the WorldCast Equinox of-
fers continuous data transfer rates of 4, 6, 8 and 12kbit/s; i.e. ¼
of the selected sampling frequency. With asynchronous charac-
ters the data stream is usually non-continuous. To enable the
higher baud rates to operate when the 16kHz sampling frequency
is selected the WorldCast Equinox utilizes rate adaption
– this will
only work as long as the average data rate is still less than ¼ of
the selected sampling frequency. Special care must therefore be
taken at baud rates of 4800 and 9600 when the 16kHz sampling
frequency is selected.

This Ethernet interface is available for both connecting to a PC
running the WorldCast Codec Management System and for send-
ing and receiving audio data.
Use a cross-over cable to connect directly to a PC. Any
straight-through cable is suitable to connect to a hub or Ether-
net switch.
Note:
The Ethernet port on the Equinox is set to auto rate, auto duplex, please ensure that the switch
is also set to automatic.
