3.3. Getting Connected

The remainder of this chapter outlines how you can quickly connect your WorldCast Equinox and start sending
audio. The following chapter describes all of the interfaces, and in more detail. In this chapter we simply cover
the basics of getting started.
Begin by connecting mains power to the unit. Switch on the power switch located next to the power connector
and the unit will start its power up self test (you will hear the cooling fan start and the Power LED on the front
panel will be lit).
After a short time the LCD display on the front panel will display the idle screen for the mode that the World-
Cast Equinox is operating in (X.21, ISDN, IP or SIP).

To make a connection and send audio you must
set the WorldCast Equinox for analog or digital audio
select interface type
set the audio profile
connect audio and network interfaces
3.4. Using the front panel keypad
* With front panel option only.
The front panel display and keypad are used to manually control the
WorldCast Equinox. To switch to the configuration menus press the Menu
key
– the Main Setup User menu will be displayed.
Pressing Menu again will switch to the Main Setup Network menu and
again to the Main Setup Audio menu. When you arrive at the menu you want use the

. Sub-menus will allow you to change individual pa-
rameters. To go back a step in the menu structure press the Esc key.
