4.4.1. Keypad
Keypad layout
The keypad is used to manually control the WorldCast Equinox. The WorldCast Equinox can also be controlled
over a network using a Windows
TM
application. The keypad is used to enter configuration information and to
make ISDN and IP connections.
The numeric part of the keypad can also be used for entering alphanumeric information. When entering a name
the
0, and ABC/1 through to WXYZ/9
keys are used to select letters in addition to other characters and num-
bers.
For example, pressing the
JKL/5
key for the first time will display the character
J
. If this is not the required
character, then quickly pressing the same key again will show
K
. A third press will display
L
and another will
display
5
. Each new key press will scroll through the characters available on the selected key (see table 2.1).
Having entered one character, then, after a short pause, the next is chosen using the appropriate key. If how-
ever, the next character is on the same key as the previous one then again, after a short pause, select the de-
sired character as before. As an alternative to waiting for the next character entry you can use the
Menu
key as
a
key to move instantly to the next character.
If a mistake is made, the incorrect character can be deleted by pressing the
DEL
(Delete)
key.
When the name is complete and correct, press
ENT
(Enter).
