For 4 relay Operation like this:
Remote Input setup
Whenever keys 2, 3 and 4 are pressed in the later case nothing happens.
The state of the control signals (from either the front panel or opto inputs) are displayed in two places on
the front panel menus
– line 3 of idle screen (“RS I/P =”) and line 8 of the USER menu. Whenever the unit
has remote status enabled and it is operating with 4 remote status relays the control signals should be
displayed as ?XXX??? (where ?=0 when signal is low and 1 when signal is high). In 7 relay operation the
front panel will work as per the standard relay operation.
5.5.6. Pulse Stretching
You must now choose whether to control the remote codec‟s relays from the front panel using the Remote In-
put
– (see section 5.5.8 Remote Input) or by using the opto-coupler inputs on the rear panel of the local World-
Cast Meridian (see section 4.6.4 Opto-coupler). In this case the state of the relevant opto-coupler input will be
embedded into the audio data stream and passed to the relay drive circuitry on the remote codec.
After selecting Embedded mode and Remote Status Control from the Back Panel (Opto Inputs), you will
now be given the option to stretch the Opto Input pulses from the back panel.
On the next menu use the and keys to select either
Front
or
Back
and press
Ent
.
The pulse stretching functionality is to be used in applications where remote alarms are driven on the re-
ceipt of very short pulses created at the Opto Inputs (minimum pulse duration 130ms) and need to be
embedded into the audio stream.
Pulse Stretching will only be valid for X.21 and ISDN transports (All EAPTX Algos).
For IP, 500ms is the currently the minimum pulse length at the opto input to guarantee delivery to the far
end relays.
When the remote status relays will register the event the duration of remote relay contact closure will vary
from between 470ms and 1200ms (due to the point in time the inputs were polled).
You must now choose whether this option is to be left off or switched on:
