Note:
As there is no signalling protocol involved in setting up an IP connection you must initiate a
connection from both ends of the link i.e. both units must initiate a connection.
Whenever the connection is enabled the status of the receive buffer is displayed using the following display.
The purpose of the receive buffer is to compensate for jitter in the network and for timing difference between
the transmitting and receiving units. Whenever the receive buffer on a slave unit becomes too large the audio
sampling clock rate is increased slightly thus extracting audio packets from the buffer more quickly
– causing
the level to fall again.
Clicking on the SIP Connect tab, brings up the following window:
The SIP destination pull down menu is the list of programmed SIP addresses which are configured either
via front panel, SIP dialer or via the SIP address book tab on the main NMS.
Choosing one of the SIP addresses and pressing connect will activate the SIP call. The telephone icon
will appear green if the SIP call successfully connects.

– IP Speed Dials
Clicking on the IP Profiles tab allows you to maintain the list of IP speed dials. An IP speed dial consists of a
collection of IP parameters. You can specify a connection to a remote codec using only the IP speed dial
– the
WorldCast Equinox has all of the information it requires to make the connection. This screen allows you to add,
edit and delete IP speed dials. It is possible to configure up to 256 speed dials.
