3.1.3. Function and Operation
1.
Function
The sample tray holds cups with patient sample, standard sample or control
sample in it. Then this tray is set to the sampler.
When the tray is set to the sampler, the tray number will be read by the tray
discriminating sensor (Fig. 3-2).
There are two aspiration positions of sample probe; samples set on the outside
of sample tray will be aspirated at A position, and samples set on the inside at
B position.
2.
Operation (Refer to Fig. ASSY-3.)
Set sample tray, fitting the hole of sample tray into the guide pin of the
rotating disk (3)
When stepping motor (7) rotates, the rotation is transferred to the rotating disk
(3) and the sample tray through the plane gear (5).
The plane gear (5) has a shade pin, which shades the sensor (6) light at the
initialization. This detects home position.
When home position sensor detects home position, rotary encoder (united with
the motor) is reset and output will be zero.
During the measurement, sample tray rotates clockwise and carries sample
cups to the aspiration position A (in case of the outside), or to the aspiration
position B (in case of the inside) one by one.
Rotary encoder counts motor rotation angle, and sample tray rotation angle is
checked.
