2.
Action (Refer to Fig. ASSY-7.)
When a stepping motor (12) rotates, the rotation is transferred to pulley (10) by
timing belt (11) and then transferred to probe (6) through spline shaft (3) and
RTM arm (4).
Pulley (10) has a shade pin (14), which shades the light of home position sensor (9)
at home position. This detects home position at initialization.
- The home position of rotation is the position where R1 probe is at cuvette
position.
When home position sensor detects home position, rotary encoder (united with
motor (12)) is reset and output will be zero.
When stepping motor (17) rotates, the lower part of spline shaft (8) fixed to timing
belt (19) goes up and then probe (6) also goes up.
Shade plate is fixed to the lower part of spline shaft (8) and this plate shades the
light of sensor (18) at home position. This detects home position at initialization.
- The home position of up/down motion is the top position.
3. The measurement procedure
1) Normal operation
Reagent cup
Cuvette
Probe wash pot
down up down up down up
aspiration
dispensation
probe washing
droplet wipe out
During the measurement, rotary encoder counts motor rotation angle and
reagent probe rotation position is checked.
- If rotation angle exceeds the limit or it consumed too much time, an alarm is
given and emergency stop is made.
Before rotation starts, system checks if up/down movement position is at the
home position.
- If it will not be at the home position within the fixed time, system gives an
alarm and emergency stop.
