GENERAL TELEPHONE PARAMETERS
z
Dialing
The telephone section can be set with two dialing modes:
•
PULSE (also called decadic or rotary dialing)
•
DTMF (also called tone dialing)
z
PABX
If the control panel is connected behind a PABX internal
switchboard, it is necessary to program the PABX number
permitting to select the outgoing line.
Enter the PABX number in the adjacent item (max. 16 digits).
z
Answering
The control panel can be enabled so as to answer to
incoming calls.
z
Number of rings
The number of rings after which the control panel answers
to incoming calls can be set from 3 to 16. By default the
control panel serves incoming calls after 5 rings.
The number of rings being programmable, it is possible to
connect several devices to the same telephone line, even if
the other devices have higher priority (e.g. answering or
telefax machine).
SKIP ANSWERING MACHINE
To by-pass possible answering machines and make the
control panel answer to incoming calls anyhow activate the
skip answering machine function by programming 17 rings
prior to answering. It is recommended to program the
answering machine so as to answer after 3 to 5 rings.
The user calling the control panel for system status check or
remote arming/disarming must hang up after the first ring and
recall within a minute. The control panel will then skip the
intervention of the answering machine and serve the call
immediately.
z
Telephone line test
If checked, the control panel verifies the presence of the
telephone line voltage prior to dialing.
z
Check ring-back
If checked, the control panel awaits the ring-back tone prior to
transmitting the any message.
z
Check dial hum
If checked, the control panel awaits the dial tone prior to
dialing.
z
Opening message
If checked, the control panel sends the opening message at
the beginning of every voice call prior to transmitting the voice
message.
Once you have finished the channel settings, press:
z
OK

configuration tables
