COMMUNICATOR BLOCK
The telephone channels are classified by the kind of protocol they
use, i.e. the voice protocol, the special digital format developped
by Tecnoalarm or one of the most common digital formats.
The telephone section of the control panel can be set so as to
block the channels specified upon reception of the blocking
command (
*
on the telephone dial).
According to programming, the communicator block affects either
the vocal, digital or Tecnoalarm channels or all three and this
either singularly or altogether:
z
Vocal
The communicator block affects only those channels
transmitting voice messages.
•
Single channel
Upon reception of the blocking command the active call is
interrupted and the alarm call cycle of the active voice
channel is blocked.
•
All channels
Upon reception of the blocking command the active call is
interrupted and the alarm call cycles of the active voice
channel as well as all the other voice channels
programmed for the event are blocked.
z
Digital
The communicator block affects only those channels
using digital non-Tecnoalarm formats.
•
Single channel
Upon reception of the blocking command the active call is
interrupted and the alarm call cycle of the active digital
channel is blocked.
•
All channels
Upon reception of the blocking command the active call is
interrupted and the alarm call cycles of the active digital
channel as well as all the other digital non-Tecnoalarm
channels programmed for the event are blocked.
z
Tecnoalarm
The communicator block affects only those channels using the
digital Tecnoalarm format.
•
Single channel
Upon reception of the blocking command the active call
WARNING
The voice channels can be blocked only by pressing the key
*
or
#
on the telephone dial.
Any voice command is ignored.
WARNING
The digital non-Tecnoalarm protocols are to devide in single type and multiple type protocols.
In any case, both if a single type protocol is programmed or not, the other events are transmitted.
No
event will be lost due to the communicator block!
Single type protocols transmit one event at a time, i.e. they close down the communication once the
event has been transmitted and recall to transmit the next one. The multiple type protocols transmit
the entire queue of events before they close down the communication.
WARNING
The callback numbers are indispensible for remote programming of the control panel.
When the installer tries to connect to the control panel via telephone line, the onboard telephone
section interrupts the communication after an initial data exchange and calls one of the callback
numbers (starting with the first one).
The numbers should correspond to the installer or monitoring station authorized for remote
programming. This mechanism has been developped as a protection of both the user and the
installer against attempts at sabotage.
The first callback number is always called first. The second one is only called if the first call is
unsuccessful (line busy or no answer). If both calls are unsuccessful, another four attempts are
made alternating the first and second callback number.
