Connectivity check
The first connectivity check has to be done by the service technician in cooperation with the
regional RSP data administrator (or respectively the Configuration/Staging Center or Partner
data administrator).
Procedure
1.
The service technician calls the data administrator to do the remote connection check and
tells him the device name configured.
2.
The data administrator connects to enterprise server for connectivity check. Service tech-
nician is ready.
12.2.12
Finalize product configuration
12.2.12.1
Finish SSDP configuration
Finalizing the configuration shall always be done on the enterprise server and not on device
side. It is more comfortable and not so error-prone to be done this way. Therefore the action is
at the regional data administrator or the responsible configuration center.
Procedure
1.
This step is triggered by the call of the service technician or an e-mail from him.
2.
Data administrator adds the customer and location data to the new device. Very important
is the correct Region due to visibility issues.
12.2.12.2
Update SIRA data
For each device, a link from SIRA to SSDP has to be created which will allow to establish an
SSDP session via connection popup menu from Equipment Explorer.
For that, the device in SIRA has to exist or a new entry has to be created. This step is not rel-
evant for devices which do not have any SIRA access at all.
Procedure
1.
Create an entry in SIRA for the new device according to the SIRA documentation which
can be found on the respectively homepage. Also your data administrator may assist.
2.
Create a new connection type with device ID for linking to SSDP.
