Installing the TAPI Service Provider
The TAPI 170 Service Provider is stored on the installation DVD HiPath 5000 RSM.
You will find detailed information on how to install and configure the individual installation com-
ponents in the online help for the TAPI 170 Service Provider.
1.
Insert the installation DVD and open the Setup of the TAPI 170 Service Provider.

Confirm the welcome dialog that appears with Next.

The Setup Type dialog appears. The following options are available:

Single Node
For using the TAPI Service Provider in standalone scenarios with no more than one
HiPath 3000 system.
●
Multi Node
For using the TAPI Service Provider in networked HiPath 3000/5000 scenarios.
●
User-defined
In this case you can manually select the components to be installed.
When you select the setup types Single Node and Multi Node, the required installation
components are automatically preselected.

Select the appropriate option and confirm with Next.
5.
The system starts to install the selected components.
When a component is successfully installed, the associated configuration dialog opens.
You can set the required parameters here or postpone configuration until a later time.

The dongle driver is only relevant to installations for which a dongle is used for licensing. When reinstalling TAPI 170
Version 2.0 or later, MAC IDs and license codes are used for the licensing procedure. The dongle driver is therefore
not required.

At the beginning of the installation routine (the precise time will depend on the
installation components you selected), a dialog is displayed prompting you to
enable ACD support. Confirm this prompt with Yes.
The relevant ACD support utility can also be enabled or disabled at a later stage.
