Getting started
12.2.4.1
Preconditions
Following preconditions have to be clarified with the customer or customer data administrator:

Is the HiPath 3000 LAN ready? Does the customer need a LIM/LIMS card?
●
Is the customer technically ready for the installation?

Port 443 outgoing is open.
–
Outgoing access to an internet NTP service.
–
Permission for Internet is set.
–
Proxy settings are prepared.
12.2.4.2
Using DHCP
By default, the Plug PC is set to DHCP. As soon as it is connected to the LAN, it should receive
an IP address from the DHCP server. It will show up in the DHCP server as a "Debian" device.
You can also use the
sheevafind.exe
tool. Once you start, it will search for all Plug PC's in
your local network.
Prerequisite
The IP address is known.
Procedure
1.
Start a browser and connect to the Plug PC's WBM by using:
HTTPS ://<IP address of plug
PC>
. The first login screen appears which asks for a username and password. The initial
username and password is "admin".
2.
Enter the password. You will be asked to change the password.
3.
Choose an appropriate password, and type it in twice into the respective fields. The Plug
PC's main screen opens.

Using static IP
If you do not have a DHCP server running in your network, the sheeva plug will eventually come
up with the static IP address of 192.168.2.11. network mask of 255.255.255.0. Please assign
your PC an IP address within the same network and then connect the Plug PC's WBM by using:
HTTPS ://<IP address of plug PC>
